Kids Zumba In Schools With Frank's Fit Camp!
Zumba for Kids is a fitness programme, designed specifically for kids incorporating various types of exercises and dance moves. We are delivering Zumba Classes for Kids in Primary and Secondary Schools around Cork as part of their PE curriculum. Programmes are available in 4, 6 or 8 week modules and we also offer Zumba for one off school open days, active days and as part of transition year activities.
Kids classes run for about 30 – 40 mins or when we deliver the programme within a school, we can tailor the class running times to suit availability. The modules feature children friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography, but we break down the steps and slow it down and use music the kids would be familiar with such as themes from their favourite movies or the charts.
With such an increase in child obesity these days, it is very important to develop a healthy lifestyle and train kids while they are young to incorporate movement and exercise into their daily routine, so it becomes a natural thing to do and they don’t end up with the ‘exercise struggle’ as they grow up !
Encourages Leadership
This is where we encourage individual children to step into the centre of a circle and lead the group, so the other kids have to follow their dance moves while one child ‘leads’ the group for a few minutes.
While it is only a few minutes, it is amazing to see the kids grow in confidence as a result of this strategy…and very rewarding when you see the hands going up volunteering to jump in and lead the circle.

Zumba for kids really works as a fitness programme as the fitness is a lot of fun for them and while the children exercise and have fun, we are also helping with their development.
Key elements such as team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, co-ordination, social skills and leadership will benefit as a result.
